The foundation offers in-house multimedia video production services to select non-profit partners, on a limited basis.
Media technology is useful within the non-profit sector, but typically too costly, time consuming or technologically difficult for non-profits to undertake individually. Effective uses of media include, for example, using a short video to help recruit clients, board, donors, staff and/or volunteers.
We began to experiment with nonprofit media in 2005, with a film project by Film Garden Entertainment, which produced documentary films to a few of our grantees. We host these films in our film gallery, and provide links from our granteesÕ websites so their visitors can easily view their films. Since that time, recent advances in web technology, software, and mobile devices such as the iPod, have created more cutting edge and affordable opportunities for non-profits to market their work.
In early 2006, we moved our production process Òin-house,Ó engaging foundation staff, specialized experts, and non-profit staff and board to collaborate on new, shorter length, multi-media pieces, which we host and link for our grantees. As these can be downloaded to iPod, grantee staff and board members can carry their videos in a shirt pocket or purse for viewing wherever and whenever the need may arise.
Please visit our multimedia project gallery to view these shorts, and/or our complete film gallery to view the shorts and longer films as well.
