Downtown College Prep Grad Pays It Forward
November 17th, 2011
"I believe that education is something that is really important in society, and I just decided to help the future generations out."
Downtown College Prep (DCP) is a Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation grant recipient that prepares underachieving students to be the first in their families to go to college and thrive at four-year universities. DCP operates two charter college prep high schools in San Jose, California, which serve over 1,000 students and alumni.
Vincent Aguilar, who is featured in this NBC Bay Area news story, graduated from DCP in 2010 and currently attends San Jose State University. He is now a mentor and coach to four other first-generation college students through a program called Strive for College.
The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation is proud to have invested in the future of Vincent and many students like him.
